Prelude to Glory, 1941 – 1945
This book, the definitive history of the early days, was written by Group Captain Maurice Newnham OBE DFC and was published by Sampson Low (UK) in 1945. Group Captain Newnham took over command of No 1 PTS in May 1941 and held the post until the end of the war. In my time (1956-1977) this book was required reading for all u/t PJIs.
